DIY|| Off-white Industrial belt

You’ve probably seen this on pinterest, instagram or twitter being styled by your vintage blogger faves and you want to own one.

You have also taken a step further to send a DM to most vintage online vendors asking for a price but their reply almost gave your bank account a heart attack so you gave up on that desire.

If that’s your tale, you gave up too soon because I have a simple, affordable DIY that would make you be a proud owner of this industrial belt in less than 5 minutes.

Here’s what you need

  • A rubber tape
  • Belt buckle
  • A pair of scissors
  • Needle and thread

Let’s get to it

Step 1

Using the buckle pin or scissors, create a hole the pin would pass through as in the picture above using only one end of the tape

Step 2

Sew the both ends of the tape and voila! You have your industrial belt but that’s after you must have created a convenient belt loop on the other end.

Extra tips

Use a similar color of thread with your rubber tape in sewing so it comes out neater than mine.

Also when buying belt buckles, ensure to get a smaller type than mine so it can stay in place when you wear it.

Step 3

It’s time for you to style. The industrial belt added some color and some vintage vibe to my boring monochrome outfit

but you can opt to snatch your waist line with the belt over an oversized blazer like in the picture below.

What do you think of this trend? Should we keep or trash it? Would you try this trend soon?
